5th edition of the Computer Science Days brings together professionals and students from the Engineering areas

SISCOG will participate in JORTEC 2017, an event organised by the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the Nova University of Lisbon.
Ernesto Morgado, SISCOG’s Administrator and co-founder, is one of the invited speakers for this event, where he will address Artificial Intelligence and the knowledge revolution it is originating.
The presentation is scheduled for February 8 at 3:30 p.m. and is entitled "Artificial Intelligence and the Knowledge Revolution".

JORTEC (Computer Science Days from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the Nova University of Lisbon), in its 5th edition, is a meeting organized by students of the Integrated Master in Computer Engineering of the referred institution. The purpose of these days is to strengthen the development of tools and complementary skills among students, through the vision and experience of professionals in the Engineering area.
Participants will be able to deepen their knowledge through lectures and workshops focused on Virtual Reality, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.

For Ernesto Morgado, this is "an opportunity to share what we have been learning thanks to our experience for over 30 years in a specific area of work, which involves the application of Artificial Intelligence as a technique for optimising timetables and the use of vehicles and personnel in metro and railway companies". This is an area where SISCOG has been a pioneer and has made a difference over the years, both in Portugal and internationally, where it has clients such as the London Underground, and the Canadian, Finnish and Dutch Railways, among others. SISCOG’s co-founder will also address other areas of Artificial Intelligence that are currently being studied to discover new niche markets where the company can invest.

JORTEC 2017 will be held on February 7th and 8th at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
